Taking the Fear out of Transition

Able Education Now is Partnering with Collaboration Station

Overview

Able Education Now offers a comprehensive two-year transition program, led by instructors with over twenty years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Each instructor holds a Master's Degree and has specialized expertise in areas such as instruction and vocational training. At Able Education Now, we believe that every individual has something valuable to contribute to the world. Our mission is to help individuals develop interpersonal, vocational, and academic skills through a combination of on-site job training and weekly, small group classes. This approach aims to increase independence and cover vital skill sets needed for competitive employment.

Internships are a crucial component of our program, providing practical, hands-on experience that helps students develop the skills necessary for job retention and success. Each internship and classroom lesson serves as a stepping stone towards achieving independence, enabling our students to thrive in the workforce. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that each individual finds a job they are satisfied with and has the opportunity to grow and excel, both as employees and as individuals. We recognize that job satisfaction plays a significant role in overall happiness, as most of an adult's life is spent working.

What does Able Education Now value?

At Able Education Now, we believe that every individual has something unique and valuable to contribute to the world. Our core values are rooted in the principles of inclusivity, empowerment, and growth. We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels supported and capable of reaching their full potential.

Our mission is to help individuals develop essential life skills through comprehensive job training programs. Our flagship initiative is a two-year work program designed to equip participants with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the workforce. This program is built on three key components:

  1. On-Site Job Training: Participants gain hands-on experience in a real-world job setting. This practical approach helps them develop technical skills, work habits, and professional behaviors that are crucial for long-term success.

  2. Weekly Small Group Sessions: Every week, participants come together in small groups to reflect on their work experiences. These sessions provide a supportive space to discuss the week’s accomplishments, address any challenges, and learn from each other’s experiences. Facilitated by experienced mentors, these meetings also include skill-building activities and discussions on relevant topics such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

  3. Achievement Celebration: We believe in recognizing and celebrating progress, no matter how small. Regular celebrations of achievements help boost confidence and motivation, reinforcing the idea that every step forward is a step towards greater success.

Through this holistic approach, Able Education Now not only prepares individuals for the workforce but also fosters a sense of community and belonging. We are dedicated to creating a positive impact by empowering individuals to contribute meaningfully to society, thereby enhancing their own lives and the lives of those around them.
