Our Safety Training program is designed to support individuals in developing the practical skills needed to navigate everyday environments safely and independently. This service is individualized and can be provided in the home and community, focusing on real-life situations such as community awareness, personal safety, emergency response, boundaries, and decision-making.
As part of this service, we utilize the Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS) to guide our approach. The AFLS is a comprehensive assessment that evaluates an individual’s current level of independence across key life skill areas, including basic living skills, home skills, community participation, and safety awareness.
Through this assessment, we identify strengths, areas of need, and priority goals. Results are used to develop a personalized safety training plan that is functional, measurable, and aligned with the individual’s daily life and long-term independence.
Our approach is hands-on, supportive, and focused on building confidence, awareness, and independence in a way that is meaningful and sustainable.
